Hardcore Disciplined.

I've just looked out a window and seen a filthy and destructive family of bush turkeys digging up my neighbour's garden which their big vicious claws. I know. My blood ran cold too. If they decide to mess with my garden I will cry.
Hard to believe they are a protected species.
Meanwhile R sent me this photo:
Must get my paws on it as soon as possible, I luff Hong Kong with every cell and fibre of my being, and everyone knows that Double Happiness is Key.
Thought about Easter yet?
Spose I'll have to wheel out my Herend Bunnies soon.
Yesterday I said Yes to Moschino camouflage print
And don't be scared but I went with a pale polish
Moschino always reminds me of Kathy Lette, she's the practically the poster child for it.
Speaking of which, if you are a piano teacher, I think you should buy this Moschino frock and wear it all the time:
A sent me a snap of her divine Hermes elephant scarf which (crosses self) she has never worn! Despite having owned for about 4 years.
On a cost per wear basis this scarf is proving quite expensive.
I say get it out, get some Maitai scarf rings and get that thing round your neck. Pronto.
I myself am counting the moments til it cools down and I can hide my collapsing neck a la this:
I am surrounded by Hardcore Disciplined People- you know the sort- they're careful about what they eat, they don't ever over spend, they exercise regularly, they meal plan (you get the picture)…Frankly, I'd like to hop on the bandwagon and become a lot more Disciplined too. Who's with me? Any advice? Tips? Words of Wisdom?

    1. Seeing a comment from a gentleman on your blog prompted me to go and have a look at Stephen's blog. What a delightful young man he seems to be. His blog is so well written and beautifully illustrated. A real find via the lovely FF.
Have you been over to have a look??

    2. I did not realize you were on FF's blogroll. What an honor. She is the queen. I usually scanning her blog list for interesting places to visit. Keep up the good work on your blog. An absolute delight.

  2. I am. I train with a group of wonderful women, sometimes they bring their kids. A few ladies above 60 train with us, they are not freaky fit like you see on Telly, but they suck it up and work hard. Our trainer is a great women too. If you could find a group like that, exercise would be less of a chore.

But you are one of the most disciplined ladies I know! xx

  7. I am feeling incredibly depressed about my lack of discipline. Cannot lose weight. Cannot meal plan. Cannot stop unpleasant OCD related habits like picking cuticles. I need Michelle Bridges to come and yell at me for a bit.

    1. Actually talking of birds..yesterday arvo when the heavens opened I was in the garden and herd a plop..a baby rainbow lorikeet had fallen onto the garbage bin .

He was half sized i.e. fully feathered but with sweet little wings.. I couldn't catch him and he kept trying to fly..all the while in pelting rain , sub tropical type rain . I .went inside to grab a towel or something and he had disappeared when I returned.. not at all like those self confident scrub turkeys

  9. Love your posts and always admire your nails...Any favorite polish brands or hints on how you keep your nails so beautiful? I'm assuming you do your own mani-pedi's. Do your toes match your fingers? Thanks!...Janie

  10. My goal at the moment is to stop eating chocolate biscuits in the middle of the night when I'm breastfeeding. It will require so much discipline!! However, now Rita is six weeks old I've thrown myself back into the business and was even editing photos one handed yesterday while feeding her - that's pretty committed!

Wonder what the candle smells like? Hardcore humidity, leather handbags and cigarettes? I love HK, so jealous W is going without me this year.

  12. Yesterday morning we had a vile and ornery Bush Turkey up in our gum tree! The cheek! Love that piano dress, I'd wear that - off to check it out.
You are incredibly organised and disciplined: wish I was!!

  14. I've just done a Whole30 - no alcohol, sugar, dairy, legumes, wheat or preservatives. Think fruit, veg, meat and eggs! I luffed it but I think I may be a tad more disciplined than you. When it comes to shopping though I have no will power whatsoever

  15. Well considering I feel like your blog has played a part in helping me to find the pleasure in being a bit more organised lately, I won't lower the tone by offering any of my own advice as am wildly unqualified.

Feel like at the moment am pretty disciplined with my exercise and eating but really struggle to find the balance with my marigolds. Internet shopping in particular is my achilles heel, it's open 24/7!

Anyhoo, looking forward to reading the advice of The Faithful.

    Happy Windsay to you!

  17. Let´s get disciplined together! ;) I´m terribly "sinful" and impulsive to my nature. Third day in a row I grabbet a chocolatebar and a RedBull for breakfast, still drinking it att work while receiving my first patient for the day - not even feeling embaressed...

  18. You are doing a fine job, at least from my perspective. And you make it all look so easy.....that is no small feat.

  19. I used to be more disciplined but I gave it up because it made me lose sleep and gave me headaches. High discipline is not for everyone. I've found my own pace now. I don't see much evidence of bush turkeys in my garden anymore. Maybe there's not enough undergrowth for them to hide in here. I have thought about Easter! Mainly because next Tuesday is Shrove Tuesday, meaning I can freely make and eat pancakes. Shrove Tuesday is my favourite Easter eating holiday because I don't really enjoy chocolate eggs anymore. I am looking forward to cooler weather with more jackets and layers xx

  20. I can be disciplined at times, but not most of the time. I think you're a pretty disciplined person though - all that nail polish maintenance and application, plus the elaborate hair drying, house cleaning etc requires High amounts of discipline. Love the camo print, and the Herend bunnies. xx

  21. Oh no! You are posting about being disciplined? Why oh why did I say yes to an apple turnover last night? Self indulgent thing that I am. However onwards and upwards, today had fruit with my lunch. Ps bush turkey necks look particularly unattractive and why are they so moody?

  22. Ha! You have more discipline in your little finger than a lot of people! I'm picturing neatly folded ironed laundry, table set the day before dinner, resolute committment to superior grooming/hair.

Embracing exericse, healthy eating and austerity can be a good thing. In moderation. I have a friend hard core disciplined in healthy eating. I saw her having peanut butter, curried egg and cucumber on a rice cracker the other day. Too much discipline. Bring on the cheesecake!!!

Shocking about scarf. I am ashamed!! Will do as told!!
    xx

  23. I don't class myself as disciplined at all but having said that I need to keep up my special diet and exercise for health reasons and just have to stay rigidly determined to stick it out. If my health didn't depend on it then...pfft. If I'm honest I could be classed as disciplined/bordering on OCD with actioning washing, if that hamper gets too full I get the vapors.
I blame living with an ex-shift worker for my lack of discipline because it's incredibly hard to follow rigid routines.
My advice..don't sweat it, you're already a disciplined person in my eyes.

  25. Hmmm. I am not very careful about what I eat but I DO exercise regularly. I don't meal plan but I DO stick to a specific budget and pre prepare things and freeze them. I find meal planning a bit dull. I am somewhat groomed but I adhere to different standards.....

Just thought you might like to know that as a 39 and a half year old woman, I passed my driving test yesterday! It's my 40th birthday present to myself. Talk about disciplined - I practised 2 hours every day for 4 weeks and passed it first go.

  30. I start each day disciplined and determined and it lasts until about 5pm and then it all falls apart. Instead of walking, I eat. I'm on the sofa (again) and snacking on rubbish! Need to get my head in the right space…You however, I'm sure couldn't be much more disciplined!! Damn those turkeys! I have possums here. Tonkath

  32. I'm not very disciplined but I have significantly improved since joining a ballet barre class full of extremely stylish and disciplined women. They all show up in coordinated workout gear, gorgeous accessories and chatter about flying in from/to New York / Brasil / Switzerland. Clearly accessorising is key. They are of all ages but all thin and very dedicated. It's all terribly glamourous and I have to say it's been wonderful for my motivation x

  33. We had a bush turkey on our roof last week! Can you imagine! The thing actually flew the 12 or so meters from the roof to the back yard. Astounding.
And you are so disciplined…just in other realms…like never having chipped nail polish, ironing, and never under cushioning.

  34. Discipline hmmm not so much

  35. Love the elephant scarf. So beautiful in these colours too! Your flowers are also just gorgeous!
Hope those bush turkeys fly away. Maybe if you had a dog it would chase them away. But then some dogs can do a lot of damage as well. We had a beagle for 12 years and we couldn't dig in the garden or plant new things because every time she smelled fresh earth she'd dig it up. The first time it happened I replanted the poor beautiful new shrub. The next morning there it was, dug up again. Tried one more time. Dug up again. After that I gave up. Our son loved her and we did too, she was so affectionate, but she was a bit of a destroyer. As a puppy she chewed up our son's brand new Christmas cricket bat and his new sneakers. So maybe dogs are not a good idea after all in the bush turkey/garden stakes. Best wishes, Pammie xxx

  37. I say "Lucky You" to be surrounded by such motivated and motivating people. I'd love to have that inspiration on a daily basis...but FF, I don't think you need any help in anything. Still , don't think it's fair that you stay so slim, what with all the cooking and dining and entertaining you do.
As an afterthought, I always thought that "bush turkseys' was one of your colourful turns of phrase until I saw them at our zoo here in Melbourne...not very pretty are they? Also, that Moschino was the very first thing I bought off the internet (inspired by yourself) and I love it)
Thanks for the joy. Linda C.

Actually, FF, yours is one of the few blogs that allows people without specific types of accounts to comment, so thank you for that. I'm not interested in creating new accounts so just have to remain silent on some of the other blogs.
