Serpent. And Demographics.

This morning was picture perfect round these here parts
So I started doing some gardening.  But I saw a slippery serpent, i.e. a snake so I hotfooted it in indoors
Where I cleaned out the fridge and the pantry. The Glamour.
Yesterday Mr FF and I took our friend J  to lunch at the Fat Noodle. It was excellent.
And in a Trip Down Memory Lane, Mum brought up my old doll for the Child. It's 38 years old. Her hairdo's a bit crazy. His main interest is cars, but it's nice for him to have Options.
Say what you will about Old Mr FF he is a Wiz with the mussels prawns and pasta
After dinner Mum babysat so we could go out for a drinky
Prior to the Gardening wore this old Pucci Stalwart.
Everyone always wants to know what I where when I garden. Not Pucci.
Just crappy old gardening clothes.
Luff an olive branch? Me too
The FF Garden's looking pretty good all thing considering
This afternoon I've got a tea party thingamy at M's, so I've baked these white choc chip biccies:
Can't wait for the Oscars. And to hear what Joan has to say on Fashion Police.
Meanwhile where are you reading this from? And how old are you?
I'm in my kitchen. And I am 40.
Happy Saturday afternoon People.

  6. I'm in my (currently incredibly messy) study/office in my farmhouse on a farm in WA. I have just finished shampooing the carpet in the guest room. Now I am having a quick coffee. Oh the glamour. I am 37 (but I will be 38 in a few days).

I hate snakes. People overseas won't believe you get them in the cities in Australia too - my parents had several in their garden in a coastal suburb in Perth.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

We have been seeing a large black tail recently in ours and then one evening spotted all 160 cms of him slithering around the garden beds. Saw him again next day and thought enough is enough. Called the reptile relocater and three cheers Justin Tigersnake has been carried off to the forest.

  12. Serpents in the garden. That would send me around the bend. I didn't hang clothes on the good old Hills Hoist for 3 weeks due to a Jurassic Park sized bush spider.

I have to say I love your garden posts, only just having recently become interested in it. It always looks so green and lush!

I am reading this on the lounge on my tablet, whilst watching Maggie and Simon on Foxtel IQ, contemplating what to make for dinner. I am 31 and refuse to go out as spent the day in Sydney shopping and my nerves are frazzled from driving 1.5 hrs home in torrential rain.

I think wine is in order as I have given myself until 8pm to assemble some flatpack furniture (2hrs and 4 mins to go!)

Your weather is far superior to ours, which is a tad confused as to what's appropriate for the season. We have been getting all four seasons in a single week: 60F then 32F the next day. Yesterday brought rain, snow, sleet, and more rain.

You know what Oscar Wilde said about a woman telling her truth age:

“One should never trust a woman who tells one her real age. A woman who would tell one that would tell one anything.”

  88. Re: Your dolly's hair-do
My sister and I have always called that Toybox Hair. It's the look that synthetic hair gets when your doll spends a week lying at the bottom of the toybox: smashed down on one side and sticking up on the other, and both frizzy and matted-down at the same time. Basically, it's what my hair looks like every morning when I get out of bed...

  89. 47 and reading from my Family Room couch in Adelaide on my laptop. It's 5.30 am Sunday morning and have been rudely woken by loud, annoying possums cavorting on the roof and now I can't get back to sleep as it is a very hot night. There are dozens of them in our garden. They all come out at night like a crazy "Night at the Museum" party and then scuttle back in time for morning.
Yes - snakes. This summer we have had 3 brown snakes in our garden (we live in the Eastern Suburbs of Adelaide near a creek). Rudy the snake catcher sorted a couple and I sorted the last. Not sure if that's legal but it was about to crawl over my foot (I was gardening) and I had a shovel in my hand. x

  93. Hi FF. Snakes are too scary.

Do you differentiate between work clothes and non-work clothes? Promoted to ask because of you giving your Pucci dress a trip to the beach. I have a work wardrobe of dresses I don't wear for anything except work and more casual and/or revealing and/or glittery wardrobes for different events.

I am in bed with a tummy ache. Feeling poorly at any age is annoying but when you are mid 40s I think you are meant to be stoic. Unfortunately I don't do stoicism very well.

  96. A snake! That is taking Old Testament conditions to the extreme. I am 60 & 2 weeks old (think I will just stick with 59, sounds better. I am sitting in my family room having breakfast with 20 month old grand daughter following a wild night with rain and wind, glad that the 30 mtre tree of our neighbour's only came down in our back garden and not through our house. Son and husband surveying the damage to our garden and hoping neighbour home soon to discuss getting rid of the monster. Yikes.

    How interesting.
Are you going to put a graph together for us - that would be awesome.
Today - I feel about 3,562 years old.
Tomorrow - it could be 12.
In actual fact, I'm 45 and I'm taking a quick break from packing up the house and sitting in front of the fan going full bore, while outside everything in sight is being sucked of its last little bit of moisture and up in the hills an out of control bushfire has consumed 35,000 hectares.
It's those old testament conditions you talk about.
