The FF Garden's staged an amazing come back and is blooming it's little head off. Hooray.
This was me yesterday in Old School Ginger and Smart sourced on the cheap from Olive Home circa 2008
Remember this stag horn sourced from the Rocklea markets during Easter 2010? It's slow growing but gorgeous.
Nothing better than clean ironed sheets. I'd like to tell you that Mrs Danvers did the ironing, but reader, it was Me. Mrs Danvers being fictitious and all.
Luff a memoir? Me too. These are some of my favourites. Aunts Up the Cross is the best closely followed by Heddy and Me.
Made Nigella's yogurt cake from Nigelissima. Divine when hot but less so when cold.
Liberty fabric is the Business
Yesterday made pancakes
Friends popped round bearing coffee
Love instagram on the net? Me too
My friend texted me this photo yesterday. She took it the day our boy arrived home. 4 days old. Seems like last week.
Went to my friend's divine home for afternoon tea. Such good chat, such a gorgeous setting.
Happy Sunday x

The FF garden is to be applauded...as is the staghorn, beautiful xx
ReplyDeletemy FF gave it to me and I luff it
DeleteYay for your garden. Mine is looking as dry and crisp as ever. It has been such a hot summer down here in Canberra we aren't even getting a decent showing of wild blackberries.
ReplyDeleteWhat a divine afternoon tea. You look amazing.
yay for the garden too, thank you, was all smoke and mirrors and flattering angles x
DeleteGlad to hear the garden staged a comeback, all that rain must've done it some good. Love the play outfit. I've been feeling a bit nostalgic about my babies too.... must be because the 2 year old is definitely grown up now, and I've been offloading all the baby stuff (not that I shed a tear to sell the change table after 7 years of changing nappies- hooray!). xx
ReplyDeleteI miss the baby stage but I love hearing him speak and seeing all the cute things he does. He's taken to kissing my hand which is very sweet x
DeletePlease, if you would be so kind, tell me what on earth you do with all the pretty cushions from your bed when you are sleeping* - I can't imagine they are tossed onto the floor?!
ReplyDelete* I realise you never sleep - but Mr FF does presumably?
I put them on a chair in the bed room! Piled up like sardines. Mr FF hardly sleeps either.
DeleteGlad your garden is recovering - I love that fern. Your friend's pool looks lovely, must be great in all that heat!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I love your outfit!
ReplyDeletethankyou-it's old but good x
DeleteI've been following your blog for a while but have never commented. Simply had to this time after reading about your ironing habits. I too, iron sheets, pillowcases, husband's business shirts, ALL of the kids clothes, 100% cotton and linen clothing etc, etc, etc . . . I have a Laura Star iron with all the bells and whistles (had it since 2007) and just luff ironing. I find it very soothing. My friends laugh at me - they just don't understand what they're missing out on! I'm with you on the ironing front - everything looks SO MUCH BETTER when freshly pressed.
ReplyDeleteLove the blog.
x
I iron a lot of stuff but Old Mr FF does his shirts and my frocks before I go to work. Ironed stuff sits better in the linen press. If it's not ironed how can it sit flat? Wouldn't it be bulky? and creased???? Find it soothing too. It's practically the only time I stand in the same spot.
Deletethanks for loving the blog.
I am glad your garden is thriving...our weeds are really green and lush so they almost don't look like weeds!
ReplyDeleteI think I might need to add some Red Phoenix jewellery to my collection. I must admit I wasn't that fussed about it initially but the more I see of it, the more I love it! Especially the pieces with tassels! I have never met a tassels I didn't like.
shocked you weren't fussed originally, that stuff is GOOD!
Deleteweeds luff my garden too.
tassels are 11/10. x
Yum, those devilled eggs look delicious! I am a huge proponent of all devilled eggs, make them every week. The garden is look great, too! x
ReplyDeleteeven though I myself do not eat eggs, I could tell they were the business, and everyone luffed them! the food was fantastic x
DeleteWhat a glam house! Cute plunge pool arrangement. I do luff a plunge pool x
ReplyDeleteme too- I luffed it, it was sort of floating out of the house- gorgeous x
DeleteYou know what the business is? You legs! You lucky thing, very jealous.
ReplyDeletex
Thank you- And I owe it all to genetics because it sure as hell isn't what I eat!
Deletesomeone once said you can only back your genes til 35 but I reckon it's at least 45, maybe 50. Fingers and toes 60 x
saw those yellow fringe earrings in a sho- about 3 hours ago ..I've just arrived home after seeing Django Unchained I had to close my eyes in sone parts
ReplyDeleteDying to see Django, was it good??
Deleteyes but parts are violent,,
DeleteI love your wedges! And that house is so glam! Have you seen the liberty range at J.Crew? Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteno! but I will look! sounds good x
DeleteYour friend's house is lovely and the pool looks great. She looks very glam too and you look good in shorts.
ReplyDeleteLuff the photo of 4 day old Baby FF. He must be nearly Toddler FF soon. I look at photos of my daughter when she was just days old and can remember it like it was yesterday...treasure every moment and before you know it he will be at BIG School.
Have been actioning some laundry, decluttering and cooking today. Made a chicken dish with lemon and slow roasted lamb shanks which smell delicious.
Have a good week and hope Baby FF is getting better.
Lorraine E.
xx
It all goes too too fast x
DeleteOur garden and lawn have made a comeback too after FINALLY having a bit of rain. Your garden is looking lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe had pancakes for breakfast too, and clean sheets today. If only I had someone to do it for me, I would have clean sheets everyday!! I can dream.
Your posts always make me HUNGRY!!! :)
sometimes I change the sheets daily because I luff clean sheets so much x
DeleteAunts up the cross - snap! You reminded me that I have a copy floating around the traps, off to find it.
ReplyDeleteLove staghorns, they remind me of my parent's garden from many eons ago.
best book ever, and so so so funny
Deletestag horns are the bomb
Your legs aren't fair.
ReplyDeleteLove that Ginger and Smart top I remember it from your maternity wardrobe. Now that's frugal (silly anon on last post).
Beautiful house any house that has a pool and a wine fridge is always going to be worth popping round to.
wine fridge is on deck-so flash! right next to bbq
DeleteThe top's ben good to me - am committed to Frugal Feb!! x
We're sitting here tonight admiring our garden's miraculous comeback too FF. Amazing what a bit of rain can do, long may it continue. You must be so proud of how far your little baby has come, it all goes too fast. Enjoy it all as I know you do. Happy week xx
ReplyDeletegoes too too fast x
DeleteLots of colour and upbeat as usual. That's really why I visit.
ReplyDeletethanks.
Deletecan't live without colour x
Fabulous afternoon and I do believe we all could talk under water or maybe that should be champagne!
ReplyDeletexx
was beautiful, love your home x
DeleteI love that Patricia Volk memoir too!
ReplyDeletemy favourite food memoir ever!
DeleteIt's grey and cold and wintery here in England so I love your gorgeous garden shots! They are my sunshine fix. :) Your friend's house is stunning, and I'm loving all the jewellery.
ReplyDeleteI have a pile of ironing to tackle today - agree that a pile of just-ironed sheets and clothes can't be beaten.
Melusine x
ironing in front of the telly is pretty relaxing x
DeleteEveryone's commenting on the garden, the pool, the bar fridge...People! What. About. The Legs!! Those pins deserve a blog of their own. Truly fabulous FF.
ReplyDeleteBest, BB from Melbourne X
FF,
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand that whole thing about Liberty Prints - so 'spensive for what they are!
they are expensive but maybe it's because it reminds us of our child hood frocks or something? There's a lot of nostalgia tied up with Liberty prints.
DeleteDear FF - I am on the hunt for a new iron .. any suggestions ? Lillii
ReplyDeleteno, I just got a cheap one but I do like a teflon surface x
DeleteHonest to God-do a post on mini skirts and hot pants. Those legs should get their due.
ReplyDeleteDear FF,
ReplyDeletewhat an incredibly cultured and stylish woman to have an excellent coffee like merlo on your world famous blog.
Nice one FF.

Cheers
Dean M
Dear Dean M
DeleteHa! Long time no speak.
Cheers, FF x
What a fab post FF. I absolutely love your afternoon tea outfit. I tried on a Jean Schlumberger bee ring in Tiffany & Co on the weekend that reminded me of you! I did think it was very 'spensive though.
ReplyDeleteToday I actioned a purchase from the Jean Brown sale AND a necklace from RPE. Without your blog I would have been none the wiser about either of these fine establishments, so a big thank you for your shopping suggestions.
ps - As you can tell I have not embraced Frugal Feb... it being the month of my birthday and anniversary the concept was doomed from the start in this house. Might have to do Miserly March instead.
